Book Twenty-Six

My goal for several years has been to read 50 books in one calendar year – 52 weeks – but I have always fallen off the rails around 25 books. This year, I’m twice as determined. I will be posting short reviews of each book with my thoughts and any recommendations I received for the book as well as a link to purchase the book from Amazon, (though I recommend checking your local library first). If you have questions, leave a comment! If you want to follow my journey, find me on Goodreads.

In the fourth installment of Gabaldon’s Outlander series, Jamie and Claire are in the American colonies and are eventually joined by their daughter, Brianna, from the future. I couldn’t read this fast enough. The plot revolves around these Jamie and Claire being united (or reunited) with Brianna and Roger, then settling in North Carolina. There are so many moving parts, but it’s fascinating. I enjoy the addition and continuation of the Brianna/Roger story line. As always, the “end” of Claire and Jamie is always in question. One minute you think you know how it will all play out, but Gabaldon turns the tables and you end up just as clueless as you were to start. The way Gabaldon handles these relationships and historical details keeps me turning page after page. I still love this series so much.
