Book Twenty-Eight

My goal for several years has been to read 50 books in one calendar year – 52 weeks – but I have always fallen off the rails around 25 books. This year, I’m twice as determined. I will be posting short reviews of each book with my thoughts and any recommendations I received for the book as well as a link to purchase the book from Amazon, (though I recommend checking your local library first). If you have questions, leave a comment! If you want to follow my journey, find me on Goodreads.

I started this novel on my way out of Rome for the last time on my way to Boston. I thought I’d listen to some of the book and then maybe podcasts or music, but ended up listening to this the entire 17 hour trip. I don’t regret it. The plot moved a little slower than the last few in the series, but was still really interesting. Roger almost dies, Bonnet is still around, weird things continue to happen around Jocasta Cameron, and Claire meets people from the future. Once the action starts, it doesn’t stop. A great setup to the war that’s inevitably coming. I know the books in this series are long – they are a definite time commitment – but they are incredibly well written with fascinating characters. I can’t wait to finish them all (and then reread them)!
