Book Forty-Five

My goal for several years has been to read 50 books in one calendar year – 52 weeks – but I have always fallen off the rails around 25 books. This year, I’m twice as determined. I will be posting short reviews of each book with my thoughts and any recommendations I received for the book as well as a link to purchase the book from Amazon, (though I recommend checking your local library first). If you have questions, leave a comment! If you want to follow my journey, find me on Goodreads.

This is my least favorite of the series so far if only because the first two-thirds of the novel follow so many different storylines that it’s confusing. I kept getting lost and had to flip back to remember who we were actually talking about because the transitions were abrupt. I know Lord John and Willie are important to the plot, but getting them to a place where their storylines actually weave together with the others took some time and effort in this one.

The last third brought all the moving parts back together and I couldn’t stop reading. The novel ended much more quickly than I wanted with so many unanswered questions and suspenseful situations with no resolve. I still love this series so much. On to the next!
